Education, before anything else

Fatigue, low drive, poor recovery, brain fog and mood changes can all point to hormonal decline, but they overlap with thyroid disease, sleep apnoea, anaemia and depression. We start with bloodwork so treatment addresses the actual cause.
For men, typically total and free testosterone, oestradiol, LH, FSH, SHBG, PSA, haematocrit and a metabolic panel. For women, oestradiol, progesterone, FSH, testosterone and thyroid markers, interpreted against where you are in your cycle or menopause transition.
Testosterone therapy suppresses natural production and can reduce fertility. If you may want children, your provider will discuss enclomiphene or HCG-based approaches that raise your own production instead of replacing it.
Hormone therapy requires follow-up labs, typically at six to eight weeks and then periodically. Dose changes are made on data. Any provider willing to prescribe indefinitely without rechecking is not practising good medicine.

Common questions
Yes. Hormone therapy without labs is not responsible care. You can use recent results from your own physician or we will direct you to a partner lab.
Not necessarily. Some patients use it for a defined period, others long term. Because therapy suppresses natural production, stopping should be planned with your provider rather than done abruptly.
Yes. We offer bioidentical oestradiol and progesterone, and low-dose testosterone where clinically appropriate, for perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms.
By your labs, your symptoms and your goals together. Your provider titrates to the lowest effective dose rather than the highest tolerated one.
